Background

Joshua Mendoza (Mendoza Studio - Principal Consultant) is a multifaceted individual who always strives to learn new things. His technological expertise has allowed past employers to adapt to a changing construction industry and stay ahead of competitors.

In 2013, Joshua started his structural engineering career at SGI as a Junior Engineer. Throughout his tenure, he has gradually shifted the company to adopting Building Information Modeling and other technologies to accelerate the design of construction documents. Because of this, SGI was able to design three roller coasters, and two retrofits in 2016, a first for the company and in half the time.

Joshua is recognized for his unwavering work ethic and being able to embrace, interpret and assist in the technical deployment of emerging methodologies and software in the Architecture Engineering Construction (AEC) field. He enjoys problem-solving and welcomes complex challenges that allow him to deliver positive results under pressure. Under fast-paced and pressured environments, he has shown creativity, adaptability, and focus that demand prioritization of multiple problems at once.

Joshua is currently pursuing other endeavors and his MBA at San José State University. In his free time, he likes exploring new countries: their culture, food, and architecture. A quote that inspires him is, “if you want something you’ve never had you must be willing to do something you’ve never done.”
